Healthy Chocolate Recipe

A chocolate bar of healthy goodness! Curious about how to make one? See Chef Cynthia Louise's special recipe below and make it with your loved ones. It's a must-have treat for the whole family!

INGREDIENTS

For the base, prepare the following:

  • 250g cacao butter, finely chopped
  • 200g cacao liquid or paste, finely chopped
  • 148ml maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 10ml #POSITIVITY

For the fruit and nut combo:

  • 80g roasted walnuts
  • 80g currents
  • 100g dried sour cherries

For the peppermint combo:

  • 45g cacao nibs
  • 3 drops of Young Living peppermint oil
  • 110ml chocolate, melted

For the roasted sesame seed combo:

  • Black and white sesame seeds, roasted
  • A pinch of salt

METHOD

To prepare the base:

  1. Add the cacao butter to the top of your double broiler, let it melt and set aside.
  2. Add the cacao paste to the top of the double broiler, melt and set aside.
  3. Tip the melted cacao butter into the cacao paste, add the remaining base ingredients and mix well to incorporate.
  4. Combine the chocolate base with any of the flavour combos.*
  5. Pour into your moulds or spread onto a lined tray and place in the freezer to set.

*I divided the base into three parts. I sprinkled the fruit and nut combo over one, mixed the peppermint combo into the second part, and sprinkled the sesame combo on top of the third part.
